Edel Pinnock was born in Jamaica. He moved to England in 1961 and decided to take up studies in welding technology at Willesden Technical College. It was through his studies at college that his dormant interest in art was awakened. His interest ranged from painting to sculpting and in order to develop himself Edel went on to study at Cambridge College of Art and Technology. This experience proved to be the catalyst for Edel’s future role as a lecturer in art design.
His pursuit to have a career in art has now been realised after years of painting and sculpting continuously and exhibiting alongside his college education and welding contracts. Edel now spends his time working on commissions for paintings and producing one-off pieces of bronze and steel sculptures.
Alongside his art education Edel has been working as a tutor for years, running classes and workshops in fine Art and Metal Sculpting for adults. His work has also been exhibited in various group exhibitions and sole exhibitions as well as being interviewed on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire in relation to his work as an artist.
He celebrates his passion for drawing and sculpting by using a blend
of subtle, bold and strong lines. His stimulus for his work comes from
observing nature and also the landscape surrounding him at a given time
